A style of dance that combines dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. A defining characteristic of acro is the smooth, graceful transitions between dance and acrobatic movements. Acro teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, and above all discipline and concentration.
6-11 Beginner Acrobatics: This class focuses on increasing the dancers strength and flexibility, while working on basic contortion work and beginner tumbling skills such as cart wheels, and back/front walkovers.
6-11 Advanced Acrobatics: This class focuses on more challenging contortion work, such as balancing skills and combinations of moves put together. In addition the class focuses on harder tumbling skills such as aerials and back-handsprings.
12 & up Beginner Acrobatics: This class focuses on contortion and tumbling technique. Dancers would work on basic contortion skills and flexibility, as well as beginner and intermediate tumbling skills such as front/back walkovers and aerials.
12 & up Advanced Acrobatics: This class focuses on advanced contortion including balancing, combinations and extreme flexibility work, as well as power tumbling skills including back-handsprings, round off back-handsprings, both round off and standing back tucks.
