Ballet/Jazz Combo

This class helps the young dancer to build a strong foundation for years to come.  It is designed to introduce children to the fundamentals of ballet & jazz technique. Students will improve their coordination, musicality, & memorization of choreography.  This class is perfect for those younger dancers who cannot decide on one style!

Ballet and Jazz | Age 5-6 | One recital dance

Ballet

Comprehensive classical ballet training increases coordination, self-confidence, musicality, strength, focus, and creativity.  Our age-appropriate, structured classes are designed to foster individual development with an emphasis on proper body placement, vocabulary and dance etiquette. Concentration on the fundamentals of classical ballet technique establishes a foundation for not only more complicated classical ballet repertoire but other dance forms as well. 

Non-recital class

Contemporary

This class is a fusion of multiple styles of dance. Dancers will learn strong technical skills as well as a unique style of choreography. During this class dancers will learn to commit to their movement and build upon improvisational skills.

Ages 10 and up

Jazz

This class showcases a dancer’s individual style and originality. The dancer will learn strong technical skills such as flexibility, isolations, and coordination while executing big leaps and turns. The choreography consists of many jazz styles ranging from Broadway Jazz to Street Jazz. Ballet is highly recommended for dancers in this class.

Ages 7 and up

Hip Hop

This class includes a wide range of styles including breaking, locking, popping, and many other new and current trends. It is a fun, yet challenging class which trains the body and mind to learn intricate moves while improving ones coordination and musicality. This class learns choreography as well as the concept of freestyling.

Ages 5 and up

Tap

Tap dancing increases coordination and develops a sense of rhythm and musicality in dance. The dancer’s feet become an instrument of “expression” that creates sounds with the floor. The class varies in styles from Traditional/Broadway Tap, Rhythm Tap (Hoofing) and Acapella.

Ages 7 and up

Boyz Hip Hop

Following in the footsteps of MTV’s ICONic Boyz, these classes are geared towards learning the latest moves and being introduced to commercial choreography. Boys will learn some of the elements of Hip Hop including popping, waving, locking, music video styles and more. Strength, agility, coordination, rhythm and confidence are gained in these All Boyz classes…along with ICONic brotherhood!

Lyrical

This class combines elements of ballet, modern, and Jazz techniques. Lyrical dance requires strong technique as well as emotional execution to the lyrics of the music. For beginner level dancers  ballet  is recommended as a prerequisite for taking this class.

Ages 7 and up

Acro

A style of dance that combines dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. A defining characteristic of acro is the smooth, graceful transitions between dance and acrobatic movements. Acro teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, and above all discipline and concentration.

Cheer Funk™

ICON is the original creator of the Cheer Funk program and home of the award winning ICONettes!  This popular high energy class is designed to prepare dancers for grade school, college and pro-level cheer & dance teams. It is based off of the styles you would see during a halftime performance at a sporting event. During this class the dancer will work on flexibility, strength, stamina, and dance team skills.   While having fun and being sassy this class will build ones confidence and self esteem!

Ages 5 and up

Break Dance

This class will teach the foundation of breaking. It incorporates top rock, as well as foundational footwork and individual style. It combines energetic footwork with technical drills and freezes. The teacher will further the dancer’s artistic ability and their professionalism of choreography.
