Hannah Russell is a versatile singer, actress and dancer from Sydney, Australia. She is a graduate of Ev and Bow’s full time classical/contemporary course, The International Student Program at Broadway Dance Center and holds a Bachelor of Music in Arts Management from the Australian Institute of Music.

Hannah has performed around Australia as a Show host for leading brands Nickelodeon Live, ABC Kids, Dreamworks and Warner Brothers. She is also a former ‘Pantherette’ dancing for three seasons with the National Rugby League in Sydney. In New York she has performed as a Jazz and Contemporary dancer for choreographers Josh Assor, Zanza Steinberg, and as a featured soloist in Giacomo Severini’s ‘Creating Memories’

(Contemporary Ballet). Her favourite credits include Buglisi Dance Theater’s ‘Table of Silence’, and as a core company dancer for ALMA NYC Dance Company and The Julia Kane Dance Collective.

Hannah’s journey as a performer has been featured in major dance publications, DanceLife Australia and Dance Informa Magazine. Her credits have given her the opportunity to perform in world class venues including The Sydney Opera House, The Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Manhattan Movement Arts Centre and ANZ Stadium.

As a teacher Hannah enjoys mentoring students, creating a class that is energizing and fun and also challenging. Her jazz and contemporary class is a fusion of athleticism and technique, either emotive, sassy or quirky a story or idea is always represented in her choreography. Her theater class focuses on line and class with influence from fosse and the golden age of broadway and film. She also loves a quirky comedic character. Hannah’s goals as a teacher are to see students develop the necessary skills and mindset to thrive long term, understanding their value so they can add value to others as performing artists.

Hannah has had the opportunity to train in New York and Australia in a broad range of dance styles including Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe. She has completed her Cechetti and Advanced RAD Ballet Examinations. In New York she trained extensively in Contemporary and Jazz with master teacher and choreographer Ginger Cox. She has assisted as a dancer and been on the panel for student placement auditions at Broadway Dance Center. In Australia she trained with Sarah Boulter, Christine Keith, and vocally with Natalie Gamsu and Laura Bunting.

In 2017 Hannah was the recipient of Broadway Dance Center’s Outstanding Student Award.
