Starting dance at the age of 9, Katie began her career at ICON Dance Complex in Englishtown, NJ. There, she trained in all styles of dance under the direction of GEO Hubela and Beth Hubela-Gregorio. At ICON, Katie was a member of the ICONic Hip Hop Company, the ICON Technique Company, and the ICONettes. In 2010-2011, her second year ever dancing, she was awarded the ICON of the Year scholarship, which was humbly awarded to one stand-out student each year. As a devoted and dedicated member of the ICON Companies, Katie was given the opportunity to audition for America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV and America’s Got Talent with the ICONic Girlz Crew, making it to contract rounds each time.

Throughout her dance career at ICON, Katie has traveled from New York all the way to Las Vegas, entertaining crowds at Madison Square Garden, Hard Rock Café NYC, PNC Bank Arts Arena, Jones Beach Theater, Symphony Space Theater NYC, Chelsea Piers NYC, and Apollo Theater, to name a few. In addition, she has also competed, trained, and received stand-out scholarships at numerous dance conventions including USTD, the Pulse On Tour, NUVO, the Dance Awards, Monsters of Hip Hop, World of Dance, Prelude, and Hip Hop International.

To build on her training, Katie joined the High Definition Hip Hop Dance Crew, under the direction of Omari Brown in Little Falls, NJ. Traveling up and down New Jersey, Katie and the High Definition Dance Crew performed at local celebrations, placed first place in several state-wide competitions, and auditioned for America’s Got Talent.

Having an extreme passion for dance, Katie furthered her career as a dance major at Rowan University, where she performed in several main stage productions that were directed, choreographed, and produced by her professors Dawn Marie Bazemore, Paule Turner, and Dr. Leslie Elkins, PhD. She was also a member of the Rowan University Dance Team. Katie graduated from Rowan with a BA in Dance Magna Cum Laude in the Spring of 2021. She plans to continue training, performing, and teaching in her future and looks forward to transferring her love of dance and her love of ICON to her future students.
